Summer Solstice Sunrise

Thanks to the 23.5deg tilt of the Earth's axis, we experience the 'seasons'. During the course of the year, the Sun will move in declination a range of 47deg reaching it'smost northerly point around 21/22 June each year. This photograph shows the Sun rising on the 'longest day' in 2008 as seen from the Stiperstones in Shropshire.
