Superb image of aurora from Richard Pearce. In this scene the particles from the solar wind are causing a curtain effect. It was taken in the pre-digital age (1988) on Fuji transparency film. He was imaging from The Moray Firth not far from Elgin - the exposures were roughly 20s using a Pentax SPF camera, 28mm F2.8 lens and 200 or 400ASA film. Moving to Scotland sounds a good move.
