Comet Hale-Bopp on the 26th June 1996. The image scale is 0.44 arc sec per pixel. The scaling logarithmic. By this time the comet was just visible to the naked eye. Image taken by Grant Privett and Peter Boyce using the UK JKT 1 metre scope at La Palma. Note the asymettry.
