m51-1

M51 imaged by Peter Shah using an FLI MaxCam CM8-2-ME and Orion Optics 200mm f/4.5 Newtonian.

"When capturing the M51 I applied exposures of 30 minutes in red, 30 minutes in H-alpha added to the red, 30 minutes of green and blue, and 40 minutes luminance. The additioanal H-alpha exposure was used to pick up some more detail. I had a few problems with satellites on some of the frames....occupational hazard I suppose."
