In 2008 I decided to convert the old pig shed in my garden to an Observatory.

Having demolished and removed the parts of the pig shed that were not needed I stared work on the timber frame.

Having finished the timber frame I bolted on a steel frame, this will hold the walls together when the roof is fitted. Incidentally the tent seen in the picture is home to my 10” Newtonian until the observatory is finished.

After cutting the roof on and rebuilding the brickwork I can fit the breathable membrane to the walls. You can now see where the opening for the telescope will be.
